Rebel Loon

REBEL LOON
The loon’s “crazy laugh” tremolo call is a warning cry. In Minnesota, tens of thousands have answered the call, responding to threat with singing instead of violence.
“Rebel Loon” is my attempt to honor that and participate in the reaistance. To name what’s happening. To sing the story of love until enemies become neighbors.
LYRICS
[VERSE 1]
There’s a tremolo, crazy-laugh call from the loon
A warning of storm troopers, coming for you
They killed Renee Good, gunned down Alex Pretti
An empire trying to whitewash the city
[VERSE 2]
They treat peacefuul perople like terrorist threats
Call them lunatic criminals and radical left
Ridiculous lies spoken by Kristi Noem
While our wannabe dictator sits on his throne
[CHORUS]
The resistance is rising, as the temperature falls
We take to the streets at rebel loon’s call
Love isn’t just for the president’s club
Love is for all; everyone is beloved
[BRIDGE]
We take to the streets to sing out hopeful songs and melodies
Armed with rebel voices who believe peaceful harmony
No more fighting violence with guns and knives and and fists
Loving is the only way that love will still exist
[VERSE 3]
A different call one day will ring clear and true
A hoot of togetherness will come from the loon
Enemies will become neighbors and friends
But we’ll sing the story of love until then
